Julia Conover is writer and retired lawyer living in Philadelphia, enjoying the cultural wonders (and great food!) available in the city.
A lifetime lover of fiction, she’s been obsessed with books and reading since her childhood in Western Pennsylvania – from Nancy Drew and Little Women to Jane Austen and Harper Lee, and more recently Amor Towles and Ann Patchett, to name a few. There’s nothing she enjoys more than sitting on a beach or beside a lake, engrossed in a compelling work of fiction.
During her more than three-decade career as a Philadelphia lawyer, she clerked for a federal judge, worked in a major law firm, and then spent the majority of her career as a corporate and regulatory lawyer for a large telecommunications firm. After retiring, she was able to turn to her first love -- reading and writing fiction. She participated in many writing seminars and workshops (including the Iowa Summer Writers Workshop), and eventually had her short stories published in a variety of journals and magazines, many of which are shared on this website. She is now working on her first novel.
Julia is grateful for the many instructors and writing mentors who have provided their wisdom and inspiration. She is pleased to share her work and her journey with you.
